Police in Naivasha Sub-county have arrested a 60-year-old man, after he allegedly defiled a twelve year old mentally retarded minor, impregnating her.
The father of eight, who has been on the run for two years was nabbed at his Gondi home few Kilometers from Kongoni trading centre.
The officers were forced to lay ambush in the middle of the night and walk the suspect to the cells after arresting him.
And at the police station, officers were left shocked after the suspects' wife admitted that the husband committed the act and pleaded for forgiveness.
The wife defended her husband, saying that the she was pregnant at the time and the husband could have been tempted after a long stay without sexual intercourse.
But according to nominated Member of County Assembly Esther Magere and child activists, the man had to face the law.
She said that the accused had been arrested two years ago and arraigned in court charged with defilement and indecent assault.
However, just as the case started the accused, who was out on bond absconded from the court until he was rearrested.
