The girls from Mixed Boarding Academy along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway were arrested after the fire incident where property worth thousands of shillings was burnt down on Wednesday.

The students who are being held at Naivasha police were nabbed after one of the dormitories in the school was burnt down in unclear circumstances.

A police source said that the students from Form Two and Three were incriminated by their colleagues during investigations.

The source said that during the incident, four cubicles in the dormitory were burnt down before firefighters from Naivasha sub-county officers managed to contain the fire.

“The fire was started from one of the cubicles and spread fast burning down beds and other personal effects belonging to the students,” said the source.

The senior who declined to be named said that the six would be charged at the Naivasha law courts with various charges.

“We expect to charge the six in court with arson and investigations are going on to see if there were any other student involved,” said the officer.
