Police in Likoni, Mombasa have arrested a suspect said to be among the most wanted criminals in the county.Confirming the arrest, Likoni police boss Benjamin Rotich said the suspect, identified as Mohammed Isham Moshi, was arrested on Sunday night at his hide out near Msikiti Nuru area in Majengo mapya, Likoni.Rotich said police have been tracking the 21-year-old suspect and his accomplice for a long time after been linked to a series of robberies and other criminal activities in the coastal city.The police boss said Moshi’s accomplice, identified only as Modi, managed to escape the arrest but a manhunt has been launched.During the raid, the police recovered several knives and machetes from the suspect.He said police records indicate that the suspect was jailed for seven years at Shimo la Tewa but later escaped under mysterious circumstances.“The suspect is linked to a series of robberies and murders in Mombasa and outside the county but he is now in government hands,” said Rotich, as quoted for Baraka FM.According to the daily, the suspect who hails from Kisauni moved to Likoni where he has been hiding.Rotich thanked members of the public who volunteered information to the police which led to the arrest of the suspect.
