Kisii town Police officers have arrested two men suspected of stoning a man to death at Nyangusu area Nyamache sub-county, Kisii County.

The two suspects are alleged to have attacked James Mukiri a husband to Judith Biyaki accusing him of theft.

Confirming the incident on Sunday Kisii County police commander Agnes Mudambi said the two suspects picked a quarrel with the deceased at his house

"According to the information we have, a fight broke out between the deceased and his assailants who overpowered him before dragging him out of his residence where they stoned him to death with a mob that responded to the alarm they raised," said Mudambi.

Mudambi added that the two suspects appeared drunk at the time of the incident.

"The family has claimed that the deceased was not a thief since they had not been provided with evidence of any theft he had done before," added the county police boss.

"Ms Judith Biyaki, who is the wife of the deceased, reported the incident to our officers at Nyangusu. We then headed to the scene and took the body to Akemo valley hospital morgue for post-mortem," said Mudambi.

My Police officers launched a manhunt for the two and nabbed the suspects at Nyangusu area.

The two suspects will be arraigned before a judge at the Ogembo Law Courts on Monday
