“The issue of deteriorating security is becoming a song in this village. We have always called for beefed up security but no one is responding to our cries. It is important that the government deploys more security officers, besides imposing a temporary curfew,” said Alvin Ongaga.

“The gangsters have been executing the crime with impunity and are majorly targeting businessmen. They are in possession of illegal weapons such pistols and this is even making the situation serious,” said Peter Ongwae.

Mwongori chief David Ogega admitted of deteriorating security but urged the local people to embrace Nyumba Kumi policy in a bid to root out the criminal elements.

“I understand the insecurity crisis in the region but it’s important that we adopt the Nyumba Kumi initiative so that we can identify these criminals,” said Ogega at the burial ceremony of Wallace Ochoi, a victim of the attacks.
