Likoni security personnel have banned weddings and disco matangas in the area in a bid to curb increased cases of crime in the sub-county.This comes after security officers said the constituency has been identified as a hideout for terror suspects and criminal gangs. Addressing residents on Thursday, security officers said they agreed to ban the night celebrations after investigations showed that criminal gangs in the area are capitalizing on them to conduct their illegal activities.Likoni Deputy County Commissioner Felix Maiyo said stern action will be taken against parents whose kids will attend the night events.“Anyone who will be caught participating in night discos will be punished accordingly. The discos and weddings will only be done from 6 am and end at 6 pm,” said Maiyo, as quoted by Baraka FM. He also called upon residents to corporate with the police in a bid to curb crime in the area.“Report any crime and related incidences to police within the area,” he added.
