The police base was built through the County's Conflict Management Department, the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) in partnership with the National Police Service (NPS).

Roba said a number of police officers have already been deployed to the base to help in securing the area.

This is to ensure security is heightened in the region, given that Mandera has frequently been under terrorist attacks.

The leaders also visited the Malkaroqa and Ardagarbicha farms to witness the farming progress.

They later distributed engines and provided tractors for use in support of the local farmers.

"My administration will renovate the water facilities in the area for use by the residents,'' Roba assured.

They appealed to the Gharre and Degodia communities in the area to share resources peacefully and live in harmony.
