Gatundu North Sub County police boss Daniel Nyamiti has challenged the youth who are qualified to registration for identity cards in preparation for the upcoming general election.
Nyamiti spoke in his office on Tuesday where he revealed that statistics have it that 75,000 thousand persons who are eligible for the crucial document are not yet registered.
The police boss said the first phase of the registration campaign did not stand much fruit as beleaguered.
“This time we have conscripted Nyumba Kumi to work with village elders in assisting us to identify those who may not have the identification cards in their area so that we can get to them,” revealed Nyamiti.
He said at the same time, religious leaders will also be brought on board in an effort to have all the possible youths issued with the identification cards.
“You must be willing to uphold the essential document and then be enlisted as a voter for you to ensure you vote back the leaders of your choice in the coming general election,” added Nyamiti.
“Even those with the old generation ID cards will have an opportunity to have them updated to the new identity cards,” he added.
Nyamiti pointed out that members of the public must be willing to take the advantage of the issuance of the document, and be in a position to control the future of their country and their counties by electing leaders of their choice.
