Coast police boss Larry Kieng has vowed to deal with criminal gangs in Likoni and Kisauni constituencies.Speaking during a pre-Christmas briefing in Mombasa over the weekend, Kieng said security agents in Mombasa were closely monitoring the crime hotspots in Kisauni and Likoni where juvenile gangs have been terrorising residents.Kieng said that the groups have caused pain, injuries, and deaths to residents and thus should not be tolerated.He said the security department has a list of all the ringleaders of the criminal gangs in Likoni and Kisauni and were pursuing them.He said police have launched a manhunt four ringleaders of criminal gangs in Likoni who fled after realising that police had listed them among the most wanted criminals in the area.“We are pursuing Hamso Shakur, Damy Ali, Mapesa Don and Dara Leckonai some of the ringleaders who have been leading the Watalia, Boko Haram, Wajukuu wa Bibi and Wakali Kwanza gangs that have forced Likoni resident to leave in fear,” said Kieng.The police boss revealed that a total of 30 members of criminal gangs in Likoni surrendered to police in the last one week.He said those who surrendered will receive counseling services to enable them to shun crime.“However, we will pursue and deal will those who ignore our calls for them to surrender,” said Kieng.“Some have even surrendered with their weapons and we are still conducting our investigations.
