Molo Sub County Police boss Richard Masinde has warned area youths against engaging in unlawful acts.
Speaking to journalists in his office on Sunday Masinde said that the number of young people abusing drugs in the area has gone high.
He noted that drug and substance abuse is high among teenagers especially those who finished form four recently.
“The government will not spare anybody caught trafficking or abusing drugs,” said Masinde.
The police boss said that they have identified areas where drug abuse is high and soon they will crack whip on the traffickers. He further warned those using teenagers to ferry drugs to stop, since that is child abuse.
“Soon we will deploy a special team of officer’s and investigators in some parts of the sub county to tame the practice,” said Masinde.
The police officer urged young people to engage in development related activities, since this will help them improve their livelihood.
"We can only develop this area if we all join hands and work, but we can not achieve our mission if there is a group of people pulling us behind,” notes Masinde.
At the same time he assured residents of their security he also promised that soon more police will be deployed in the area to curb crime.
