Police has decried increased drugs peddling and abuse in Yatta, Machakos County.
Yatta police boss Edward Changach said the most affected areas included Matuu and Kithimani within the sub county.
Changach urged residents to voluntarily give information on drugs peddling and abuse that may help the police in nabbing suspects involved in the illicit trade.
He addressed the press at his office in Yatta on Thursday.
"There are many cases of drugs peddling and abuse in Yatta sub county. Police officers are trying their best to deal with the situation, we need the public's help," Changach said.
Changach cited an incident where six suspects were arrested with ninety rolls of bhang in Matuu town on Wednesday.
He said the lot was arraigned at Kithimani Law courts and charged with being in possession of drugs.
The police boss said the suspects were apprehended by police officers who were in patrol following a tip off from members of the public.
"Officers on patrol were tipped by members of the public of the lot's activities in the market, they moved swiftly and cornered the suspects thus arresting them," Changach said.
