Igonga Division police boss Nicholas Omondi has raised alarm over increased cases of domestic violence in the region.

Mr Omondi on Monday speaking at his office said at least 5 cases are brought to his office daily. 

"Domestic violence is on the increase especially families living in residential houses. It is high time they understood that it is wrong," he said.

He said that on a daily basis he gets five cases related to domestic violence are reported in his office.

According to him 40 cases were still pending in his office as investigations were still ongoing.

"I also ask couples to report when they have differences or even seek spiritual intervention. This will help control the situation," he said.

Mr Omondi also said that it was important that those who raise concerns about the matter follow protocol when reporting.

Omondi assured that Igonga administration police post has enough police officers to beef up security in the area day and night.

He said lazy police officers will not be tolerated to serve in the area.
