Police have come out to defend themselves over claims by NASA Co - principals Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula that they were put under house arrests during Raila Odinga's controversial inauguration.
Police spokesman Charles Owino on Wednesday told the press he was not aware of the leaders being under house arrest terming the assertions political.
“That is a political question and he (Kalonzo) has given you a political answer. I am not a politician, don’t draw me into politics,” Owino said.“It is not true, he was not under house arrest,” Owino added.Owino however, did not comment on the withdrawal of the leaders' security details.
The police spokesman said he did not have concrete information on the alleged security withdrawals.“I cannot answer that here since I do not have information unless I return to the office," Owino said. He was also not aware if the security of Kalonzo Musyoka had been reinstated by Wednesday.“I am not aware, I have not seen any police man in his compound. I will be able to confirm after getting updates from the relevant authorities," Owino said.
