There is a heavy confrontation going on between the police and the public at Bondeni area along the Njoro-Mau-Narok Road.
This is after the death of two people, a man and a child, who were hit by a lorry at 7am this morning.
Following the incident, Bondeni residents decided to block the road by digging ditches thus paralysing transport on the busy road.
"There is no vehicle that will be allowed to pass here before the governor and MP Kiuna come here," Paul Kinyua, who witnessed the accident said.
The child died on the spot while the man died on the way to hospital.
"We will not allow any more deaths to happen on this road. This has become a black spot," Pius Njuguna, another eyewitness said.
At one point, the irate residents threw stones at a DC’s vehicle prompting the police to respond with teargas.
The police could not talk to the press saying the one authorised to talk to press was yet to arrive.
Njoro MP Joseph Kiuna later arrived at the scene and urged the residents to be calm saying that the road has claimed many lives of innocent residents. He urged the government to address the situation before it gets out of hand.
“We have held talks with Kura officials over the erection of bumps on this road but nothing has happened,” said Kiuna.
He urged the government to erect a bump on the ' black spot' to avoid further accidents.
