Jubilee Party nominations for the Baringo South constituency by-election were marred by chaos as two groups battled for the Jubilee ticket.
The situation forced police officers to fire in air after the groups clashed in Marigat.
The chaos led to delayed tallying of votes after votes of one of the aspirants were alleged inflated with the Returning Officer being accused of doctoring results.
Party officials were forced to postpone the announcement of the winner to Sunday.
This comes after a group of youth barred journalists from covering the exercise on Saturday.
“You better return back peacefully before things turn dark on you,” youth told journalists.
The situation was, however, contained after more police officers were deployed to the scene.
Four aspirants Mark Kiptoo, Charles Kimuren, Eunice Lepario, and Joseph Tarus are seeking to succeed the former MP, Grace Kipchoim.
Kipchoim passed on after a long illness.
