Police have killed a suspected Gaza gang member in Machakos.

The suspect was cornered at Mavoko and felled in a hail of bullets.

Mlolongo assistant county commissioner David Mukung confirmed the incident.

"There has been a lot of insecurity in Mlolongo Phase Three. These criminals terrorise residents but the police are managing the situation," he said.

Mukung said the notorious gang was killed at 3am when police ambushed their hideout.

Police recovered several stolen items from the hiding nest.
