Police on Saturday gunned down a suspected robber in Isebania town, Kuria West.

Area OCPD Evance Wanyonyi confirmed the incident, saying two others were arrested in the morning raid.

The police boss said the suspects were behind a series of crimes in the area and neighbouring Tanzania.

Wanyonyi said they killed 26-year-old Mwita Wandiki after members of the public alerted them about a robbery. He praised the public for working with police.

He said that Wandiki was the leader of the gang that has been terrorising the locals.

Wandiki's accomplices 20-year-old Kilo Wandiki and Charles Sope, 21, were placed in police custody.

The OCPD said they recovered an AK47 rifle, 28 bullets, a motorcycle that the suspects used, Sh13,500 and two cell phones.
