ODM Secretary general Ababu Namwamba has alleged that the police force has imported deadly tear gas from China to turn those demonstrating blind.
Speaking during the anti–IEBC demonstrations in Kisii County on Monday, the Orange Democratic Movement Secretary general said that the government wants to intimidate them but they will not stop demonstrating until IEBC quits office.
Namwamba who was in Kisii county for Public Accounts and Appropriation Committee meeting left the meeting at the Gusii culture center and lead the youths to the IEBC offices as they were stopped by the police officer until he requested them to allow him to make a statement.
In his statement, he told the government to use the money they are using to buy sophisticated weapons to create a watertight IEBC.
“We are aware that the Jubilee administration is using a lot of money to buy sophisticated weapons, we advice them to use the money in productive ways," said Namwamba.
MP Ken Okoth from Kibra constituency also said that the government dropped the motion seeking to send IEBC officers home.
