Area chief Gideon Oyugi said the rider Ambrose Momanyi was attacked by the thugs as he prepared to go work on the wee hours of Saturday.

“It seems motorbike theft has resumed in the area. The security team will do everything possible to ensure criminals targeting riders are flushed out from the region because each person should eat his or her sweat,” said the chief.

He said police officers from Nyacheki are tracing the criminals who fled with the motorbike towards Nyamache.

A police officer Ndwiga Muriithi said primary reports indicate that the thugs are hiding in Nyamache but they are hunting them.

"We have reports that the criminals are hiding in Nyamache. We will do everything possible to arrest the criminals so that they can return the motorbike to the owner before they will be taken to court to be charged with robbery with violence,” said the officer.
