A Nakuru court has issued a warrant of arrest against a Nyandarua sub-chief who is facing Charges of defiling a minor.

Principal Magistrate Joe Omido on Monday issued a warrant of arrest against Rutara village sub-chief Jonah Macharia.

"Having failed to attend court after he was issued a police bond, a warrant of arrest is hereby issued against the accused person," ruled Omido.

The court also forfeited a police bond of sh10,000 that was paid by Macharia as a bail.

He was to appear before court on Monday morning to take plea on a case he is accused of defiling a 15-years old Minor at Rutara village in Mirangine, Nyandarua sub-county.

He is alleged to have defiled the15-year-old girl on various dates between October 10, 2017 and January 26 at Rutara village in Nyandarua.

He was arrested over the weekend and taken to Mirangine police station.

Macharia has another case of defilement before another court, after he was charged with defiling 16-year-old last year.

He is out on cash bail.The court slated the matter for a mention on February 5 .
