Police officers in Nyamira County are hunting for 2 thugs who attacked a boda boda rider and stole his motorbike.
The incident happened on Wednesday at Kemera ward in Manga sub county.
It is alleged the rider was hired by the thugs to take them to Nyabioto area from Manga when the thugs attacked him.
Area police boss James Musyimi confirmed the incident and said the rider is currently admitted at Nyamira County hospital.
“The victim is recapturing in hospital following the panga cuts he sustained during the attack. We are tracing the suspect to Trans Mara area where we believe they have gone into hiding,” he said.
He called on members of the public to volunteer information to police to help in the arresting of the suspects.
“The public should cooperate by ensuring anyone they might be suspecting colluding with thugs is reported to police to be arrested and be prosecuted,” he noted.
He warned local youths against engaging in crime saying the law will not spare them.
