Police from Athi River police station have launched search for a 46 year-old man accused of hitting his wife to death in family wrangles.
The unfortunate incident occurred in Kamulu village in Athi River, Mavoko Sub-County before the man went into hiding.
The two are alleged to have had a sour relationship in the past few days which had resulted to frequent fights.
Confirming the incident on Wednesday evening Kamulu location chief Mary Willie cited that a neighbour had heard the noises from the two and afterwards she saw the man walking out of their house, whereby she rushed in to enquire what was going on.
The neighbour Stella Mutuku alerted the chief after she found the woman lying down unconscious.
“The woman was unconscious from injuries that seemed to be as a result of being hit by a blunt object and before she arrived in hospital for treatment she passed away,” said Willie.
However the chief confirmed that CID officers from Mavoko area yesterday evening had arrived at the scene of crime and were already doing investigations.
The body of the diseased was taken to Kenyatta University mortuary by officers from Athi River police station as search for her husband continues.
