Police in Kisii County are looking for a man who attacked and injured a pregnant woman.
The man is said to have committed the offence in Itumbe area along the Kisii- Kilgoris road on Monday.
Kisii County police commander Hassan Abdi said the man identified as Mekubo attacked the victim, Veronica accusing her for being a witch.
“Mekubo arrived at the home of the victim and descended on her with kicks and blows accusing her for bewitching his wife. Neighbors who had the commotion rushed to the home but the suspect had already disappeared," said Abdi.
He said that the woman was rushed to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital after she gave birth prematurely.
Mr Abdi asked people not to take action into their own hands.
“Members of the public should report to police officers anytime they spot the suspect so that he can be arrested," added the commander.
