Police in Mong’oni sub location Masaba North in Nyamira County are hunting for a man who impersonated a police officer to and stole two gas cylinders on Sunday.

The gas dealer, who described the man as short and dark, said the man came to his place of work and tricked him he was a police officer attached to Birongo police station.

“The gas dealer was told to come and collect money and the empty cylinders from the station and the suspect used the opportunity to disappear to unknown place,” said an officer.

He urged members of the public not to fall into tricks easily by people pretending to be officers.
