Police in Mitaboni have launched a manhunt for men who attacked and injured one woman on Thursday night in her home in Thinu area, Kathiani sub-county, Machakos county.
The suspects are said to have purported to be police officers before attacking the middle-aged woman who is now nursing serious injuries in Kathiani hospital.
Confirming the incident, Mitaboni location chief Joseph Wambua said that the woman was rescued by well-wishers from Kwa Katunga forest in Miti Muonza area where she had been dumped by her perpetrators where she was rushed to get treatment.
Chief Wambua noted that the people who attacked the woman were armed with pangas which they use to inflict deep cuts in her body.
He said that the police won't rest until the suspects are brought to book and the victim gets justice.
He urged residents to cooperate with the police by providing information that could lead to the arrest of the attackers.
