Nakuru OCPD  Bernard Kioko confirmed that the incident was reported by Stephen Gachua, a landlord in a residential place where the deceased, Esther Waithera, used to live.

Kioko said Gachua was called by his tenants that the deceased was lying in her house bleeding excessively with several deep stab wounds.

"The landlord said he received a phone call from his tenants informing him that the deceased was lying unconscious in her house after unknown attack," said Kioko.

The landlord rushed to the scene of the incident, broke into the house and combined efforts with tenants and rushed her to the Rift Valley Provincial General hospital where she succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment.

"Life of the middle-aged woman could not be saved because she had lost a lot of blood before undergoing treatment," he said.

Kioko added that residents could not rescue the woman because she did not cry for help during the 10pm attack.

Her body is at the hospital's mortuary wing, awaiting a postmortem examination while police officers have  commenced  investigations to arrest the suspect behind the killing.

"It is suspected that the deceased might have been killed by her boyfriend who was spotted by residents making her several visits in the past before her death (sic)," added Kioko.
