Police in Igonga division are hunting for a man who is accused of neglecting his two children.

Police said the man identified as Mokua, a boda-boda rider plying Igonga – Gesonso – Kisii town route divorced his wife 2 years ago over infidelity. 

A police officer James Ndwiga on Friday said the man married another wife and rented a house at Gesero area and has since failed to look after the 2 children who were left in his custody. 

“The man’s family came to report to us that the man has failed to provide for the children after he married another woman. He has violated the rights of the children, once arrested he will be taken to court to be charged with child neglect,” said Ndwiga. 

The officer said parents neglecting their families risks arrest and prosecution. 

He called on members of the public to provide information about the man who went into hiding after he realized the police are looking for him.
