Police in Nakuru have launched a man hunt for six suspects who fled in a small car during a theft incident in Solai on Tuesday night.
Three other suspects were arrested in the incident with police recovering sixteen cows stolen from a private farm in the area.
According to the police, the cows had been stolen from Floaora farm in Solai at 2.00am and were recovered at around 5.00am.
“We were alerted of the theft by security guards manning the farm and upon mobilizing our fellow staff we found that the cows had been driven towards Bahati trading centre,” a worker said.
Solai Assistant chief Simon Mwangi said security officers were mobilized fast upon receiving information about the raid.
“Police laid traps in Bahati, Solai and surrounding areas and made the arrest among those arrested is the driver of a lorry that was being used to transport the stolen vehicles, and two other people who were riding on a tractor that had been hired to come and tow the lorry after it got stuck in mud,” he said.
The three suspects are being held at Bahati police station for interrogation.
