Police Officers in Masaba North Nyamira County have launched manhunt for thugs who attacked and killed a businessman in Mosobeti trading center on Friday morning.
Masaba North police boss Eliud Njeru said the businessman identified as Bosire Omwenga met his death on his way home after he was attacked by the thugs whose intuition was to steal money from the deceased.
“We are pursuing the criminals coming up in the region to terrorize locals. The Friday incident clearly shows that a criminal gang group in the area is targeting traders so that they can rob them cash and other valuables,” he said.
Njeru assured that police will not rest until the criminals are arrested or flushed out from the region.
He challenged parents to report their children who have joined criminal gang groups to police failure to which they will attack and kill them.
“Parents should not shy away reporting their children to police because if they don’t report them they will be victims soon. We need to cooperate so that crime can come to and end in Masaba North and the entire Nyamira County,” he added.
He warned youths against dropping schools to start using shortcuts to earn a living.
