Police are looking for a gang that killed a police officer in a mugging incident along Taveta road.
The officer who was attached to Kabete barracks died in hospital where he was rushed for treatment after the incident on Monday morning.
The officer was hit on the head as he fought the thugs who confronted him on New Year's Eve.
Central police OCPD Robinson Thuku said the deceased was walking from a club in the area with a female friend around 5am when the thugs attacked him.
“The thugs were targeting pedestrians to rob them when they confronted the officer. The thugs argued with the officer before they hit him on the head and escaped,” said Thuku.
He said they did not steal anything from the officer.
