Police officers in Kathiani have launched manhunt for a woman who reportedly dumped her one-year-old baby in a toilet in Kisovo area.
The baby was discovered on April 19 in the evening by a passerby who heard the voice of a crying baby.
The woman is suspected to have had committed the offense at around 6pm and disappeared.
According to Titus Mbuva the area chief, the baby was found alive but with minor injuries on the head and legs.
"When I received information i took immediate action to rescue the baby in which through by neighbours we managed to save her,"he said.
The chief and the police asked residents to assist in arresting the woman.
He however warned them against taking the law into their hands incase they catch up with her.
The baby girl was rushed to Kathiani level four hospital where she is receiving treatment.
