Police in Bungoma are hunting down three thugs who torched Kimilili constituency CDF boss Joseph Walubengo’s car Wednesday night. The incident has been confirmed by Kimilili police boss Mary Wachu.

The thugs are said to have broken into his homestead at around midnight while armed with crude weapons, including axes, rungus, axes and pangas.

However, they did not steal anything.

Walubengo, who works with Kimilili MP Suleiman Murunga, said the incident has links to politics.

“I was asleep, when I heard noise outside. I peeped through the window and saw three men jumping over the perimeter wall,” he said.

Walubengo claimed that it is the neighbours who helped him kill the fire.

“I’m appealing to police to give me security, since I feel like my life is in danger,” he said.

Walubengo says he knows the identities of the people who torched his car and he can clearly identify them.
