A man suspected to be part of a gang of police impersonators was arrested this morning in Lanet.
Nakuru Town OCPD Bernard Kioko told journalists in his office that the man was with his three accomplices but that these men managed to escape. Kioko added that they were still pursuing them.
"This man is from a gang of four men that have been impersonating police officers as they even have police uniforms and home-made guns,” said Kioko.
Kioko relayed that the four men had raided a home in Jambo, Lanet early this morning with guns and in full police gear. However the owner raised an alarm once the men became apparent as fakes.
The OCPD further revealed that they were able to nab stolen goods from the vehicle the culprits were using.
"Their days to disturb the Nakuru County people have come to an end and the rest who escaped should even submit themselves to us because we know them,” Kioko said.
Kioko appealed to residents to continue co-operating with law enforcers to curb crime in the area.
