A man falsely portraying himself as a policeman was shot dead in Kayole, Nairobi after an attempt to escape.
Witnesses say that he gave the police a run of their lives before he was shot and died on the spot
“We saw the officers chase the man and were later joined by others from Buruburu and managed to fatally injure the suspect,” the report also said.
The imposter is said to be arresting and detaining his victims in his car and then forcing them to pay a bribe for their freedom, the report said.
The vehicles he used to aid in the crime was later discovered and in it was a loaded pistol with five bulled alleged to be used to intimidate his victims.
Also in the car a fake police identification card bearing the names Corporal Jackson Kilonzo, a pair of handcuffs, a walkie talkie, two mobile phones, a pair of vehicle registration plates and an insurance sticker were recovered.
