A man was arraigned before a Milimani Law Court to answer to charges of assaulting a law enforcer in Nairobi.
Mr John Ng’ethe Mwaura who was also being accused of impersonating a police officer was facing two counts of assault and malicious damage to property.
The prosecution told the court that the accused person committed the crime on January 2 along Tom Mboya Street in Nairobi.
On the material date, the court heard that the accused person assaulted Mr Martin Mwangi Kabere causing him actual bodily harm.
The accused faced a second count of malicious damage to property where he is being accused of allegedly damaging an iPhone valued at Sh80,000, the property belonging to the complainant.
The accused person2 however denied the charges before Magistrate Martha Mutuku and filed an application before the court to be released on bail.
Magistrate Mutuku ordered for the accused to be released on a Sh50,000 cash bail pending the next case hearing.
The case will be mentioned on January 22, 2018.
