Police officers in Eldoret town on Tuesday night netted 70,920 sachets of illegal liquor valued at over Sh3.5 million.
One suspect was also arrested during the operation.
The sachets were the 'Simba Waragi' brand which Eldoret West OCPD Samuel Mutunga said were from neighboring Uganda.
“Last night we received information from the public that there was a vehicle offloading at Kamunji estate and was supposed to be taken to Mwanzo and Kapsoya, that is when we send our officers who arrested one suspect by the name Benard Cheweya,” said Mutunga during a press conference in Eldoret town, Wednesday.
The OCPD noted that the suspect has been involved in similar offenses and will be arraigned in court sooner than later.
He further said the war on illegal liquor will continue until the illicit liquor is out of the market and called upon residents to help the security agencies by providing information that will help arrest those involved in the illegal business.
"I want to give a stern warning to those selling and consuming illegal liquor that their days are numbered and soon they will be brought to book," noted Mutunga who also thanked members of the public for their close working relationship with them.
