Police have impounded two vehicles with illegal drugs worth millions of shillings.
According to law enforcement officers in Kikuyu, who were involved in one of the two separate cases, one of the drivers of the vehicles has been put in police custody.
The driver of the other vehicle, a Toyota Fielder, is still at large, as he refused to make a stop when he was flagged down, according to police. The officers found bhang, after arresting the first runaway driver, worth at least Sh5 million.
The other case happened in Nakuru, and saw police officers seize over 6,000 rolls of bhang. The drugs are estimated to be worth at least Sh13 million, according to Joseph Koini, the investigating detective, who spoke to citizen.co.ke.
The driver of the car, a Toyota NZE, ignored police orders to stop on the Nakuru-Nairobi highway. Although he sped off, police managed to catch up with the car, but he abandoned the vehicle.
