Police in Nyanchenge village in Kisii South sub-county has launched investigations into an incident where a Manchester United fan stabbed a Chelsea fan after a short argument over game defeat on Sunday evening.
According to the eyewitness Eric Manoti, the two started a 'cold war' of words after Chelsea scored the first two goals and it deepened deeper when Chelsea increased the goals to four.
"Few minutes before the game ended the Man United fan walked out and came back silently and when the game ended he stabbed the Chelsea fan from the back and ran away," he added.
Confirming the incident on Tuesday in his office Kisii South OCPD David Mbulukwa said that the Manchester fan identified as Charles Moiro is currently at large and police are currently looking for him.
"The middle-aged man who was stabbed is currently admitted at Tabaka Hospital for further medication," he added.
He called upon the football supporters to stop taking football matters to a personal level as it may cause death.
