Speaking to journalists on Friday in his office, the Inspector said illicit brewers will be dealt with ruthlessly.

The Inspector who led a raid at Gachororo estate where at least 100 liters of Chang’aa were recovered said tough action will be taken against brewers.

The Inspector said time has come for the police to act on illicit brewers. “We have decided to take the war on illicit brewers to another level,” said Mugambi.

Mugambi said those brewing illicit alcohol have three days to surrender or face the long hand of the government.

The Inspector said a team has been formed to conduct raids on suspected illicit dens across Juja Sub County.

He said they will partner with other government agencies that are mandated to fight illicit brewing in order to address the matter.

Inspector Mwangi appealed to the residents to voluntarily give information that will see illicit brewers arrested.
