Police in the lake side town have intensified patrols following a fresh wave of crime targeting supermarkets and cash transfer outlets.
This comes a day after a watchman was brutally murdered when thugs raided Society Stores supermarket in the area, more police officers have been sent and will carry a 24-hour patrol to ensure the safety of residents.
According to residents ,the recently released petty offenders from prisons in the country could be behind the criminal acts being witnessed.
Naivasha Deputy County Commissioner Isaac Masinde confirmed the same on Tuesday noting that officers from all the units have now been deployed to guard life and property even as the town prepares for the Christmas festivities next month.
Masinde at the same time said close to 50 percent of the officers are being involved in examination monitoring adding that once that is done, there will be enough officers for patrols.
“We have released those who were guarding KCPE exams and more will be sent for patrols once KCSE that is currently underway is completed,” he said.
On the supermarket raid, Masinde said they are making crucial leads noting that it was a matter of time before the culprits are brought to justice.
