Police in Njoro constituency, Nakuru County are looking for a middle aged man, who posted threatening posts in one of the Egerton University’s facebook pages.
Robert Mungai alias ‘Robert Mohammed Blues’ who posted fake terror threats on 'Egerton Campus Life’ Page is now on the verge of facing the law especially now that the country has been on high alert following the death of 147 Garissa university College students at the hands of terrorists.
The message which read, “We are not joking and if you think we are, wait for us. Garissa is nothing compared to what will happen in Egerton University, Allah is to be worshipped. We have spies and maps of the whole university,” was posted on Friday, a day after Garissa attack.
“Cyber crime officers are investigating the matter and will soon catch up with the suspect. Security has been beefed up throughout the county to ensure that everyone is safe.
We are on high alert and we would like to ensure the people of their safety.” Nakuru County Commander John Koki said.
Immediately after the post was uploaded on the facebook site, police launched a crackdown and arrested two suspects who were later released on Saturday due to lack of enough evidence.
Njoro OCPD Fredrick Lai warned that anybody found posting offending and inciting comments on Twitter, Facebook and other social sites will be arrested
The incidence comes barely a week after police boss Joseph Boinett warned the public against posting threatening messages especially those touching on matters of national security.
