Kitale police are investigating the death of a secondary school teacher who went missing 4 days ago.
The teacher was reported missing from his home by his 59-year-old father, Onesmus Matheka, a resident of Liavo farm on November 25, 2017
Liavo village, area chief, Sagala Zedeki said the deceased, who is a heavy drinker, went missing on November 25, only to be discovered inside his rented house in Goseta farm.
“We received the report of a missing person and immediately informed the police. Luckily some residents were complaining of a bad smell coming from a house, which had been locked from inside. We suspected he could be the one, so we broke the door and actually found him lying on his bed,” said Zedeki.
Trans Nzoia county commander Samson Ole Kina, however, said different types of medicine were found in his house.
“We suspect he was sick, since his body had no visible injuries, though we are investigating the matter,” said Ole Kina.
The body was removed to Mt Elgon Hospital mortuary pending for post-mortem
