Police in Kimuchu, Witeithie Ward took almost two hours dispersing angry mob after a body of a man was found dumped in roadside sewer on Thursday morning.

The angry mob stormed the newly opened Kimuchu Police Station and demanded an explanation why the security of the area is deteriorated day by day even after Governor William Kabogo opened the police station in the area to enhance the security of the people.

The man is alleged to be a quarry worker who is known all over the area and has been residing in the area for more than five years.

James Mwaniki 37, is said to have been the last person to leave quarry on Wednesday and according to his neighbours, they thought he had decided to go out in the market after his job only for him not to turn up last night, an incident that left his wife and two children four and eight years old respectively worried.

Thika West OCPD Shadrack Maithya confirming the incident saying that the police were informed by the area Asst. Chief James Nyoike who heard the public shout as they saw the deceased body.

“Police have launched investigations to find exactly what could have led to the death of the man,” said Maithya.

The bereaved family has now called on the police to intensify the search for the perpetrators to ensure they are served with justice soon.

The body of the deceased was taken to Thika Level Five Hospital Morgue.
