Police have issued a security following intelligence reports that three Kenyans have crossed into Somalia to join militant group Al Shabaab.
A press statement released by the office the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet on Wednesday evening said the three Mohamed Abdalla Asman alias Papa alias Raymond from Majengo Nairobi, Hamisi Hemed alias Balotelli and Ali Ahmed Ali may return to the country to carry out terrorist attacks after training completion.
"The three are said to have sneaked out of the country early this month with help of some local Al Shabaab contacts whom we are pursuing," the statement signed by the director corporate communications at the Kenya Police Service Charles Wahongo read in part.
"These suspects plan to sneak back into the country to carry out attacks."
Police added that the three are in touch with Al Shabaab trained personnel in the country who the suspects will work within coordinating attacks locally.
Asman police said had ones been arrested in 2013 as he attempted to sneak into Somalia and served a jail term after admitting having links with the militant group.
Hamisi and Ali on other hand, before their escape, worked at Arafat hotel managed by a one Makhfudh in Malindi town.
