Police have issued an alert following reports of the existence of a cult whose activities are not known and targets youth in colleges and universities.
The activities of the cult known as Young Blood Saints are mainly concentrated in Nairobi.
In a statement, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Friday said the cult teaches youth to believe that there are three gods, the true god, false god and random god.
"There is an emergence of a cult operating within Nairobi that targets youths especially students in the university. The cult believes that there are three gods," the police statement reads in part.
"They also believe that the random god is the one who fails them because he is not firm with his decisions and that his answers are not straight. Members are expected to sacrifice what they love most to prove loyalty to the organization," the statement adds.
The DCI has taken up the issue and is closely monitoring the activities of the cult calling on parents and members of the public to seek psychological guidance from professional counselors and religious institutions when they notice an unusual change of behaviour in their children.
Most cults across the world target young people and some lure them with material things including hefty money promises.
