Members of the fourth estate. [Photo| @RobertAlai]Journalists were thrown out of the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Thursday afternoon by the Airport police unit. The members of the fourth estate had gathered at the premise to cover a press conference that had been called by the National Resistance Movement (NRM) leaders ahead of the return of Opposition leader Raila Odinga and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Friday. The presser was to be at 12.00 noon.According to the Airport's Head of the Police Unit Richard Omanga, they would not allow the press briefing without prior arrangements.Police also issued a warning banning NRM supporters from accessing the airport on Friday to receive Raila and Kalonzo.NRM leaders and followers have however vowed to defy the order.
