Three most wanted thugs have been killed by police in Nakuru county, after the group of five refused to surrender to the officers who were from various units.
According to Nakuru town OCPD Joshua Omukata, the Tuesday afternoon incident at Rurii Location of Kiamaina Ward in Bahati sub-county, saw the law enforcing officers recover one AK47 riffle with eight rounds of ammunition, and other crude weapons.
“I confirm that a gang of three men whom we have been following having committed several crimes in Nakuru, Nyeri and Karatina among other major town have been killed. They were five of them in one small room, two have escaped. We have been following leads from members of the public," Omukata said
Omukata added: “When they were challenged by officers to surrender, they instead attempted to fire to our officers, where three of them were fatally injured.”
The suspect's house had various items believed to have been stolen from members of the public, which included electronics and other house hold materials.
While addressing members of the public at the crime scene, Omukata pleaded with the residents to play a vital role of informing the local authority of any suspicious person amongst them.
