Six suspected thugs were on Tuesday night shot dead in Mulolongo area, Nairobi.
The six are alleged to have broken into a factory in the area and scandalised property.
They are also believed to be among a gang which has been terrorising residents in the area. Police said the thieves had earlier tried to steal in Mulolongo area along Mombasa Road.
According to the police report, thieves broke in to the African Cotton Company before an alarm was raised. Police, however, responded quickly to the alarm and killed them inside the factory.
Among the recovered items were a laptop, desktop computer, CCTV cameras and crude weapons.
Police said the CCTV cameras at the company captured around 15 men who drilled and broke the company's wall before getting in.
The group managed to access some offices and ransacked the draws. They then destroyed the CCTV cameras in some offices to avoid being detected.
'Some managed to run but we have recorded some of the stolen items.we ordered them to stop but they decided to take off on foot prompting shooting,' said one police officer who was present.
The incident comes barely a month after other six suspects were killed by police in Industrial Area.
Nairobi County Police Commander Japheth Koome confirmed the incident.
