Police on Saturday killed a taxi driver based in Karen after he allegedly robbed a customer.

Police said the man was shot in his cab at Mombasa Road after he reportedly robbed a female passenger Sh 10, 000 at gun point.

The crime busters also recovered a pistol.

The victim said she took the cab at Nextgen Mall but realised she was at the hands of a thug when he shoved out a gun and demanded she hands over her valuables and money.

"He demanded cash and valuables before he abandoned the woman on the road," an officer privy to the case told the Star.

The woman managed to inform police who launched a car chase for the taxi.

A sharp shooter fired a bullet that the suspect in his car at Mombasa Road.
