Police have said killers ambushed a medical intern at night and used a 'big stone' to kill him.

The body of Mbugua Waithaka, an intern at Eldoret's Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, was found in his house at Elgon View estate on Monday.

Waithaka had been missing since Friday and the body was found by colleagues who went to look for him.

Eldoret South OCPD Wilson Abduba said they found a 'huge stone' they believe was used to kill the intern.

Police have launched investigations into the matter.
